STRATA Networks announced that the proceeds from their 22nd Annual Charity Golf Classic will be donated to Friends Against Family Violence (FAFV), a community-based charity supporting those in the tri-county area who are suffering from domestic violence.
FAFV provides shelter, crisis intervention and prevention services, and community outreach for women, men, and children impacted by domestic violence. Their services are 100% free and 100% confidential for those that need them.
In addition to supporting the ongoing costs for supplies, maintenance, and staffing of the shelter, the donation received from STRATA’s Charity Golf Classic will go towards opening a new facility in Vernal which will provide transitional housing, a virtual courtroom, and more.
“We are excited to expand our services through a new transitional housing and advocacy center in the heart of the Uintah Basin which will increase safety and support in the community,” said Alisha Gowan, FAFV Board Member.
While their Roosevelt golf tournament is full, STRATA is still accepting teams for their Vernal tournament scheduled for Friday, June 9th. There are also many sponsorship opportunities available to those who would like to participate and contribute to the cause. “This annual event is one of the highlights of the year for STRATA,” said STRATA Networks General Manager/CEO Bruce Todd. “It is amazing to see our partners and community come together, year after year, to give back to the many organizations that collectively make the Uintah Basin a better place for all of us.”
Over the past 22 years, STRATA’s Charity Golf Classics have raised over $300,000 for local non-profit organizations including addiction recovery centers, local food pantries, home-delivered meals for the elderly, Con Amore school for special needs, and more.
