STRATA Networks announced that they will host their 17th Annual Charity Golf Classic this spring, with proceeds benefitting the Home Delivered Meals Program administered through the Uintah Basin Association of Governments (UBAOG).
The Golf Classic will consist of two separate tournaments scheduled for Friday, May 18th at the Roosevelt City Golf Course and Friday, June 8th at the Vernal Dinaland Golf Course. Golfers can register for a morning or afternoon tee time and will be treated to lunch, free range, and gift vouchers to redeem at the pro shop. There will also be opportunities to participate in a mobile silent auction & raffle, hole-in-one contests, and other activities throughout the course.
More than $140,000 has been raised through STRATA’s Charity Golf Classics – all of which has stayed local, supporting organizations right here in the Uintah Basin. This year, STRATA will donate its proceeds to UBAOG’s Home Delivered Meals Program, a valuable service that has recently suffered through devastating budget cuts.
The Home Delivered Meals Program serves aging residents living in Duchesne and Daggett Counties. These individuals are homebound and do not have caretakers so, for many, the meal deliveries serve not only as a necessary food resource but also as the only daily contact that they receive. Currently, the program delivers meals to nearly 50 residents; however, there is a waiting list of several others who qualify to receive meals but the program’s grant funding has already been extended. A donation from STRATA’s Charity Golf Classic will be used to prepare, purchase, and deliver meals to the additional community members in need of this service.
