On the morning of Saturday, August 28, 2021, STRATA held a 10K for 10K Fiber Locations race during the Dinah “Soar” Days Hot Air Balloon Festival in Vernal, Utah. As the sun came up and the hot air balloons launched, more than 50 participants stood on their marks ready to run either a full 10K or 5K distance. By signing up for the race, these participants helped contribute to a donation that will be given to Charitable Friends of Ashley Valley; an organization that helps facilitate donations to local charities around the Uintah Basin.
Kenton White, Heather Reynolds (1st), David Anderson, Anna Rasmussen (2nd), Ethan Tindall and McKala Serrano (3rd) were the top male and female winners to complete the 10K race. Joseph Lawson, Laura Anderson (1st), Brian Samuels, Rikki Troendle (2nd), Alex Santana, and Barbara Hughes (3rd) were the top male and female winners to complete the 5K race. Each winner received a gift basket and certificate for STRATA services.
STRATA coordinated this race to celebrate their accomplishment of reaching 10,000+ fiber locations in the Uintah Basin. This fiber infrastructure provides gigabit internet speeds and virtually unlimited bandwidth potential to keep up with the many growing broadband applications in today’s technology-driven world.
Those that do not yet have fiber but are interested in the faster speeds that it can provide are invited to register their address at connect.stratanetworks.com – a tool that gives customers a bigger voice in deciding where fiber gets built next. STRATA is actively using the interest that is aggregated through this platform to drive decisions on where fiber should be built next.
