STRATA Networks has recently been recognized by the NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association as a Smart Rural Community (SRC) and Gig-Certified Provider. The SRC is a national network of communities powered by innovative rural broadband providers building a brighter future for small-town America.
This program promotes rural broadband and its role in supporting innovative economic development, effective education, efficient energy distribution, and use, state-of-the-art health care, and other important issues for rural America. Providers who receive this recognition are committed to the program principles of collaboration and innovation in their respective communities.
“STRATA board members, management, and staff are visionaries and the most courageous people I have ever worked with,” said Irene Hansen, Duchesne County Commissioner. “They believed a company in rural Utah could compete in connectivity and bandwidth and laid the foundation for invention and innovation. Their success is the brightest star of my career. No amount of accolades is sufficient to recognize their contribution.”
In addition, STRATA was also named a Gig-Certified Provider, which is a certification given to providers that have gigabit technology commercially available within 95% of one or more exchanges or census. Currently, there are over 10,000 Uintah Basin locations passed with fiber and able to receive gigabit internet speeds; and STRATA continues to build to an additional 1,000 or more locations each year.
“The Uintah Basin is made up of wonderful communities that we are very proud to be a part of,” said STRATA Networks CEO/General Manager. “Helping to build those communities through connectivity and technology is an integral part of who we are as a company, and we are grateful for the many partnerships we have developed that all contribute to the Uintah Basin becoming a Smart Rural Community.”
