STRATA Networks is excited to announce that the proceeds from their 2022 Charity Golf Classic will be donated to the Con Amore School. Located in Myton City, the school provides individualized education programs and resources to students with severe multiple disabilities and developmental delays.
The Con Amore School has been serving Duchesne County since 1977, supporting students who have severe disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, communication impairments, rare genetic disorders and syndromes, students who are both blind and deaf, and more. They provide their students with special related services including speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and adaptive physical therapy. They are currently the only specifically designed facility within the Uintah Basin that specializes in and educates students with disabilities and developmental delays.
“The community has been very generous to support the students of Con Amore in the past with their time and donations to ensure that they have an equal opportunity to have the best education to meet their unique needs,” said Lola Stansfield, Con Amore School Principal. “It means a lot to our students and parents to be accepted in the community.”
Over the past 21 years, STRATA’s Charity Golf Classics have raised nearly $300,000 which has directly benefitted various local nonprofit organizations. This year, all proceeds from the event will go towards upgrading the facilities at Con Amore School to provide a better experience for their students. These upgrades may include enhancements to the school’s sensory room, wheelchair-accessible playground equipment, or added equipment that will provide age-appropriate exercise for the school’s older students.
According to Con Amore, it has been 15 years since the last addition was made to their facility, and they are hoping to create a more adaptive and interactive environment for the students in order for them to feel safe and comfortable.
“Continued community support will help us maintain the equipment we already have and expand our adaptive equipment to meet the needs of all of our students,” Stansfield said. “We are grateful for the opportunity STRATA has given us to help our students reach their greatest potential.”
STRATA’s Charity Golf Classic will be held on May 20th at the Roosevelt City Golf Course and June 10th at the Vernal Dinaland Golf Course.
