Strata Networks is excited to announce a donation of $36,505 to Friends Against Family Violence (FAFV). This contribution was made possible through the proceeds of Strata’s 22nd Charity Golf Classic held last spring.
The Annual Charity Golf Classic has become a cherished tradition for Strata, inviting participants from the local community and beyond to come together for a day of fun, camaraderie, and charitable giving. This year’s event was no exception, with the participation of nearly 500 golfers and unwavering support from many sponsors. As a result, $31,505 was raised from the tournaments, and when combined with a $5,000 match from CoBank, the total proceeds amount to the largest donation raised from a Strata Charity Golf Classic to date.
Friends Against Family Violence is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence, providing support services to survivors, and advocating for prevention. Their programs include crisis hotlines, emergency shelters, community education initiatives, and more – all aimed at breaking the cycle of violence and promoting healing. The donation will primarily be used to help fund the renovation of a new transitional housing facility in Vernal, Utah.
“This donation from Strata will have a huge impact on the community and people affected by domestic violence,” said Adam Gaus, Friends Against Family Violence Director. “As we work to create the first transitional housing for domestic violence survivors in all of Uintah County, Strata’s donation will be used to help finish renovations and maintain operations for years to come. To all of the people that support the Basin’s non-profits through events like the Strata Charity Golf Classic, just know that you are changing lives.”
Strata Networks CEO/General Manager Bruce Todd also expressed appreciation for all that contributed to this year’s donation, stating, “Over the course of 22 years, Strata Charity Golf Classics have raised nearly $350,000 for local nonprofit organizations and every year, we continue to be amazed at the support shown. Putting on these events is a special thing to be a part of, but the success we have seen would not be possible without the many supporters who choose to get involved and give back to the local causes that make the Uintah Basin a great place to live.”
